In case of emergency, break glass: Ways to create course shells that support both on-ground and online learning - Shared screen with speaker view
Who can see your viewing activity?
Good morning! I will not be talking because my house is too loud at this time.
Thank you, Keith. The survey will be posted in the chat during the 3rd session. The link to the survey is also available on the CTLE website.
I agree they don't see things posted in the shell. I had some frustrating experiences last term with students not seeing post in the D2L shell.
I love the grade mark! I have my own library of marks set up.
Is there help learning about grade marks?
Yes, they have the tutorials. I can help too.
Also, I'd like them to go over how to delete and edit rubrics in Turnitin. I can never get the function to work.
Is there a way to import a multiple choice quiz?
multiple choice works well too. can randomize answers within a question as well as questions
Darin, we'll circle back to that during the Q&A. Short answer: yes, but with caveats
Gianna, let's connect so that I can assist you with your issue.
Thanks, Karen, yes.
I love how you are using the entry slips. Thanks for sharing how they evolved for you. I called them "Prepared to Discuss" notes and they are due for every reading. I ask them to respond with one concept that they want to lead the discussion on or something that relates to them personally and how (they can keep these confidential just for me).
Are videos available showing how to generate a quiz in D2L?
Jerome its not bad, drop by and I'll show you how to make a quiz in d2l
Yes, there are Jerome.
Great. Thank you, Keith.
totally agree about recordings
There's a Brightspace Tutorial channel on YouTube with a bunch of videos. Here's a link to a video on importing questions for a new quiz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yp2a80gt4c
Jerome, we also have resources available on our CTLE website: https://faculty.saintleo.edu/teaching/d2l_teaching_resources. I'm also hosting a Creating a Quiz session on August 14 at 9:00 am.
Thank you, Karen. I would like to attend the session (Zoom) and learn how to set this up.
Wonderful! Here is the link to sign-up: https://www.trumba.com/calendars/ctle?eventid=145446454
I also fill in Due Dates on the class calendar, with reminders.
Is there a more simple way to read and grade the discussions, or do you have to click and open each reply one at a time?
Karen, There is no entry for a session on Aug. 14 at 9 am that covers creating a quiz. Is Aug. 17 at 2pm the earliest opportunity to do this?
My apologies, Jerome, yes, it's the 17th. The 14th is Creating an Assignment. Yes, we can set something up sooner than the 17th. Please send me an email to let me know what you have available.
Thank you for the information Tammy!
Thank you for such a practical lesson, Tammy.
In the gradebook you can click on the right most icon for each student when you are in the input grades for that assignment
my d2l class says it starts on 8/21.. is that right?
